I restore, customize, and reimagine surfboards and paddleboards with bold designs, careful craftsmanship, and respect for every board's history. From bringing damaged and forgotten surfboards back to life to shaping entirely new surfboards from old or discarded SUPs, every project is built with purpose, character, and a story worth RIDING!

My Journey
After 32 years of service in the US Army, including 5 combat tours as an infantryman, I carry the same sense of purpose, discipline, and commitment that defined my military career into a new chapter of life. What began as a personal passion grew into Jeffery’s Customized Boards - a place where craftsmanship, creativity, and second chances come together, one board at a time.
My Epiphany
I struggled to find my new identity after retiring from the US Army. I poured myself into education, earning both an undergraduate and graduate degree. Afterwards, "now what", God placed this photo front and center, and the caption read, "The idea is to die young as late as possible". Next stop surfing lesson in Galveston and my Second Chance Began.
My Second Chance
As a disabled combat veteran, surfing became more than recreation, it became a new identity, it became therapy, and it became a new life long passion. Sorting through the emotional and psychological trauma during my transition from the military and combat after three plus decades was at times overwhelming. Surfing gave me a renewed zeal, identity, drive, passion, and a SECOND CHANCE.
My Philosophy
I founded Jefferys Customized Boards to restore, reimagine, and build surfboards with character. Giving old, damaged, and discarded boards a second life. Every board is personal every project has a story. Every finished board is built with one goal in mind, to get back in the water and RIDE AGAIN.

Using critical thinking skills developed in the military, matched with earning a masters degree in education and an avid curiosity to historical events I research using all available tools to study vintage surfboards. This gives me a huge advantage in refurbishing damaged half century old surfboards and bringing them back to life on the waves.
